Dr. Brantley Hall

Mentor

Dr. Brantley Hall is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.

CHRISTINA QIAN

Web Liason

Christina is a Cell Biology and Genetics major and is also minoring in Chinese. She is a volunteer at One Tent Health where she conducts HIV tests in at risk communities in DC. She plans to pursue a career in medicine. In her free time she enjoys thrifting, and creating Pinterest boards.

GRACE SARKAR

Clerk

Grace is a Neurobiology and Physiology major and is minoring in Human Development. She is a volunteer at Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital where she works with children to help them reach developmental goals. She is also a research intern studying liquid ventilation through the peritoneal cavity. She plans to pursue a career in healthcare. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

KARA GARDINER

Librarian Liason

Kara is a Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience major and a Violin Performance minor. She is involved with Greek Life on campus and is a member of the University of Maryland Repertoire Orchestra. Though she is uncertain of her exact career path, she is interested in the intersection of law and neuroscience. In her free time, she enjoys reading and nurturing a Harry Styles and Taylor Swift obsession.

MAGGIE GRANT

Clerk

Maggie is a Cell Biology and Genetics major. When she is not in College Park, she works as a quality assurance intern at a medical company. She aspires to be a researcher, either in medicine or biology. She loves to spend her free time watching Netflix, going camping with her family, or cuddling with her dog, Cooper.

TASNIM ULLAH

Mentor Liason

Tasnim Ullah is a bioengineer major at UMD. She is a prt of the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and Society of Women Engineers (SWE), She plans on working in biotechnology. In her free time, she loves to bake, read, and take pictures.

NAKATI SANY

Mentor Liason

Nakati Sany is a Cellular Biology and Genetics Major. She is part of the French Language Organization and the UMD Pre-Genetic Counsel. She plans to help innovate health infrastructure in developing countries. She has an avid interest in theatre and literature.

LEAH REDMOND

Clerk

Leah Redmond is majoring in General Biology on a Pre Med Track. She is currently a part of Gemstone Honors College and Revolution dance ensemble on campus. She plans to pursue Dermatology or OBGYN as a specialty in the future. Leah chose to be apart of this research project because she is passionate about Women’s Reproductive Health and advocating for Women’s rights.

DELAINA CALLAWAY

Ombud

Delaina is a Public Health Science major. She is on the pre-med track striving to pursue a career in the medical field. In her free time she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and working out.

ELIYA BEHAILU

Team Liason

Eliya Behailu is a general biology major and a sustainability minor on the pre-med track. She was born in Mekelle, Ethiopia, and immigrated to the US when she was 5. When she's not in school she loves to play tennis, read, fish, and swim! I work as a rehabilitation technician at my local physical therapy office and aspire to be a general surgeon.

TARA ANDERS

Financial Liason

Tara Anders is an Economics major and also is a volunteer tutor as part of the The Every Child Project. She plans to pursue a career on the finance path and in her free time likes to play the piano and go on fun runs.
